state-police-seal-150x150On September 17, 2016, at approximately 3:36 a.m., State Police stopped to render aid to a possible disabled vehicle on I-90 near Exit 39. The driver of the vehicle, Amber L. Tedesco, 34, of Syracuse, was found to be impaired by drugs, while operating a vehicle with a forged inspection sticker.
Additionally, she was found to be in possession of MDMA*, Ketamine*, and marijuana.  Her passenger, Michael D. Cipolla, 33, of Syracuse, was found to be in possession of Ketamine*.  Tedesco and Cipolla were taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Syracuse.


Tedesco was subsequently charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree; a Class C Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd Degree; a Class D Felony
  • Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs; a Misdemeanor
  • Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd Degree; a Misdemeanor
  • Unlawful Possession of Marijuana; a Violation
She was arraigned before the Town of Van Buren Court and remanded to the Onondaga County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.


Cipolla was subsequently charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree; a Class D Felony
He was arraigned before the Town of Van Buren Court remanded to the Onondaga County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

*MDMA is also known as Ecstasy or Molly.  MDMA is a psychoactive drug primarily used for its euphoric effects.
*Ketamine is a Schedule III Controlled Substance and is a used for starting and maintaining anesthesia.
