unnamed-3The Oneida Library Foundation invites community members to a Recognition Dinner Saturday, Oct. 15, at 6 p.m., at the Kallet Civic Center to honor eight people who have contributed over the years so much of their time, talent and expertise in the service of Oneida Public Library and the community at large.

The honorees include Bradford Adams, Gwynne E. Bodle, Barbara Chamberlain, Pamela Maihafer, Susanne Miller and Virginia Pendleton. Also being honored are Walid and Milda Toro, both of whom took advantage of the OPL’s adult-literacy program, Madison County Reads Ahead, to learn English as a second language and thereby achieve their United States citizenship.

Napoleon Cafe of Oneida will be catering the dinner at the Kallet. Dinner will include: appetizers, Caesar salad, carved roast beef, applewood smoked ham, mascarpone whipped potatoes, mixed vegetables, and gourmet brownies and pumpkin cheesecake for dessert, cash bar including two “Literary Libations,” favorite cocktails of famous authors. Jazz pianist Jim O’Mahoney will provide the music.
Former Oneida City Mayor, Alden “Max” Smith, will emcee the evening’s festivities. Tickets for the dinner are $25 per guest. To reserve seats, make out a check to the Oneida Library Foundation and mail it to the OPL, 220 Broad St., Oneida.
