Madison County Historical Society’s Annual Brunch and Program is Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016 at Rusty Rail’s Restaurant on Route 5 in Canastota.

The brunch and program are open to MCHS membership and the public. Reservations are required by October 19.

The Madison County Historical Society cordially invites all of its members and the public to the society’s Annual Brunch Meeting and Program on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at Rusty Rail’s Restaurant on Route 5 in Canastota from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The brunch and program are open to MCHS members and the public.

Our afternoon guest speaker, Joe DiGiorgio, President of Canastota Canal Town Museum will present, “Canastota’s Lift Bridge and the many stories around it,” His program will highlight the fascinating history behind the lift bridge that was in operation until 1927.

DiGiorgio has served on various committees and organizations, including Greater Lenox Ambulance Corps and served as the Village of Canastota Historian for several years. As President of the Canastota Canal Town Museum, he oversees the operations of the museum and its exhibits.

The brunch buffet menu to be served at 1:30 pm includes: scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, french toast, danishes, fruit, home fries, pasta with broccoli, baked chicken, orange juice, coffee, and tea. Tickets for the annual brunch meeting and program are $15. Tables of 4 and 8 are available. Reservations are required by October 19.

The Madison County Historical Society will be selling raffle tickets throughout the event. Prizes range from the many handmade craft items donated by the talented crafter artisans at this year’s 52nd Annual Craft Days. Tickets for the raffle items are $1 each or 6 for $5.

The winning tickets will be drawn at the annual meeting; winner(s) need not be present to win. All proceeds benefit restoration at the Madison County Historical Society. Other ongoing raffle tickets will also be sold throughout the event. Reservations for the Madison County Historical Society’s Annual Brunch Meeting and Program on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, are required by Oct. 19.
