Rosamond Gifford ZooFriends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo will present Zoo Boo, its annual Halloween event for children and families. The event runs onSaturdays and Sundays, Oct. 22 and 23 and 29 and 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo.

Zoo Boo provides families with “kooky not spooky” Halloween fun. Attendees are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and bring their own treat bags. The event is held rain or shine.

“Zoo Boo continues to be one of our premier family events. Each year we look forward to welcoming children and their families to the zoo for Halloween fun during the daytime and adding new activities to entertain and excite,” says Janet Agostini, Friends of the Zoo President & CEO.

Beloved Zoo Boo activities include trick-or-treat stations, creepy crawly animal encounters, temporary Halloween tattoos and photo opps with the “Great Pumpkin” (a pumpkin of pachyderm proportion), all while enjoying a day at the zoo.

Back by popular demand is the inflatable activity center and face painting (for a small additional fee). NEW this year is a Wizard Sorting Ceremony! In the spirit and magic of the popular Harry Potter books and films, children can discover if they’re a Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Gryffindor.

Complimentary wands will be given to the first 100 children to visit the sorting room each day, while supplies last.
