The cold air is starting to settle in, meaning the outdoor activities we do at the Post are drawing to an end for calendar year 2016. We had a very good spring and summer of car cruzes, a very successful chicken barbeque and the honor of participating in the return of Pvt. Penna from his island grave in Japan to his rightful place next to his parents in Canastota.
I again salute those who are making it possible for us to continue here at VFW Post 600. I strongly encourage nonparticipating members to join us so we can do even more at the Post and in the community. A big thanks to Ron Hinshaw for his amazing work bringing every member of Post 600, Post 600 Auxiliary, and COV members this bulleton each month, keep up the great work Ron. A copy was handed to VFW State Commander Dennis Sullivan two weeks ago by yours truly at the Rome VFW State Commanders dinner.
Planning for the upcoming Christmas dinner is underway, more information to follow. One last note, get the shovels ready, it’s coming sooner than we want.
VFW Post 600 will be at the Oneida Walmart Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for our Buddy Poppy Drive. Please stop by and support our veterans.
Thanks to all!
