Woodland Farm Brewery is excited to announce the release of limited bottles of barrel-aged beers May 27 at 11 a.m. at the 6002 Trenton Road location in Utica. The time has finally come for our second barrel-aged bottle release.
This time around, we aged our first-anniversary beer, Batch 2, in oak and a used bourbon barrel. Batch 2 is a Scottish Wee-Heavy that clocked in at 8.6 percent abv with the perfect touch of malty sweetness, chocolate, and caramel. We have 2 versions that we’ll be releasing in a limited number of bottles.
Oak Batch 2 spent several months in a new oak barrel from Adirondack Barrel Cooperage, LLC. Expect a balance of the sweet caramel with spicy oak, toasted malts and slight smoke. Bourbon Batch 2 was aged in a second use bourbon barrel from Black Button Distilling that previously held our No Treason.
We will open at 11 a.m. with food available. Central New York Bluegrass band Pocket Change will be joining us with live music starting at 12:30 p.m; there will also be two special casks on tap for the event.
There are only about five cases of each available. There will be a one-bottle limit per person until 2 p.m., at which point any remaining bottles will be for sale.
The event is rain or shine.
