It’s that time again—The annual Friends of the Canastota Public Library Book Sale. This year, the Friends have gathered more than 3,000 books for the public to browse through and purchase.
The sale is scheduled for Oct. 26, 27 and 28 at the Canastota Library at 102 W. Center St., Canastota.
A pre-sale for Friends of the Library members only will be held Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Friend’s memberships can be renewed at the library at any time prior to the sale date. The times for the rest of the week are as follows: Thursday: 9 am – 8:30 pm; Friday: 9 am – 5 pm and Saturday: 10 am – 4 pm.
In addition to hardcover and paperback books, there will be Books on CD, DVDs, Audio Tapes, CDs, raffle baskets and much more. It isn’t too late to donate for this wonderful sale. Donations will be accepted until Oct. 18. Books should be in good condition and no more than three years old. The Friends cannot accept encyclopedias, textbooks or anything that is moldy or damaged.
The Friends of the Library is made up of volunteers who help to prepare for and work the annual sale. The Friends also care for the library garden. A local organization, Ralston’s Supply Company, will
provide the tables necessary to hold this event. If you are interested in volunteering to work the sale, contact the library and we will forward your name to our Book Sale Committee.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit the library’s programs, collections and enhance the building and services that the library offers.
