On Sept. 26, 2017, at approximately 3:05 p.m., State Police responded to the area of I-90 in Newstead for a report of a possible road rage incident. The investigation revealed a driver of another vehicle had threatened the victim with a knife, after being involved in a minor property damage accident. The driver identified as, Steven C. Walker, 45, of Cicero, was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Buffalo where he was subsequently charged with:
- Menacing in the 2nd Degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
- Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree; a Class D Felony
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
- Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident; a Traffic Infraction
- Vehicle and Traffic Violation
Walker was arraigned in the Town of Newstead Court and released on own recognizance, no return court date available at this time.
