Troopers are investigating a death of a 55-year-old woman at the Water’s Edge Inn located on State Route 28 in the town of Webb.

On Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at 3:45 p.m., State Police, along with the town of Webb Police Department responded to the hotel after Patricia Moschella, 55, of Freehold, N.J., was found unresponsive in a Jacuzzi bathtub in her room by maintenance staff who went into the room due to a smoke detector going off. It appears Moschella had a medical event prior to being discovered by staff members.

Today, an autopsy was conducted by the Albany County Medical Examiner’s Office and determined the cause of death to be an accidental drowning. There is no sign of foul play.

The investigation continues.
State Police were assisted by Town of Webb Police Department and Old Forge Fire Department.
