Wizards Weekend coming up March 3 and 4 at Rosamond Gifford Zoo
Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo will present Wizards Weekend, a two-day wizarding event for children and families, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and 4. Wizards Weekend allows wizard fans to celebrate all things magical while learning about the real animals that inspire their favorite stories and adventures. Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite magical character.
Wizards Weekend activities include crafts, face painting, divination lessons, potion demonstration, magical creatures class, a special scavenger hunt, plus animal keeper chats and meet-and- greets with Eagon the Eagle-owl and Mudd the cane toad, among others. Hand-crafted wands, wizard gear and push magical creatures will be available for purchase.
Kids will be able to pick up a gold coin at the goblin bank, sample potions at the apothecary and visit the owlery. The zoo will have hand-crafted wizard's wands and gear will be available for purchase. Wizard activities are geared to children age 5 and up, and adults are welcome to participate!
Wizard Passes are $8 for zoo member, $10 for non-members. (Passes are date-specific.) Non-members must also purchase zoo admission the day of the event at regular rates – members are always free. Children must have a Wizard Pass to gain access to special Wizards Weekend activities, games and giveaways. A limited number of passes are available at www.rosamondgiffordzoo.org/wizards-weekend.
Note: Adults escorting children to Wizard’s Weekend do not need to purchase a Wizard Pass. Regular
zoo admission is still required for all non-members upon entry.
