Office of Emergency Management urges snowstorm safety
Madison County Emergency Management reminds you to be safe during this snow event. These and other emergency preparedness tips are available on the Madison County website at www.madisoncounty.ny.gov/em.
There is a travel ban in place.
Shoveling Snow: Protect your heart, don’t over exert yourself as the snow is heavy. Remember to lift properly and shovel small loads.
Snow blowers: These are powerful machines. Keep hands and feet away from spinning augers.
Carbon Monoxide: Keep furnace vents and chimney stacks clear of snow. Check your carbon monoxide detector.
Heavy Snow: This is a Heavy Snow event. This snow event is a heavy snow event with a higher water content in the snow fall. Be cautious of falling tree limbs and downed power lines due to heavy snow.
