Magee hosts VVS students at annual Assembly Agriculture Committee Maple Breakfast
Assemblyman Bill Magee (D-Nelson), chair of the Agriculture Committee, hosted the Annual Assembly Maple Breakfast during the committee meeting. Students from the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School’s Future Farmers of America cooked pancakes with locally produced maple syrup and showcased modern maple tapping equipment.
During the meeting, committee members from across the state learned more about the issues facing maple producers. Recognizing the importance of the maple industry in the state, Assemblyman Magee fought to restore funding for the Maple Producers Association, which helps put on the annual Maple Weekends and the Maple Conference at VVS.
