Ilion man charged following “crack” cocaine trafficking investigation

On Friday June 15, 2018, members of the New York State Police’s Community Narcotics Enforcement Team were assisted by members of the Ilion Police Department in serving multiple search warrants in the village of Ilion and surrounding area.

As a result, 42-year-old Shawn R. Adams, who resides at 25 English St., Ilion, was charged with the class B felony of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Adams was found to be in possession of a quantity of “crack” cocaine with the intent to sell same.

Additionally, more than $4,000 cash, drug paraphernalia, packaging material and a motor vehicle belonging to Adams were seized as part of this narcotics trafficking investigation.

Adams was later arraigned and remanded to the Herkimer County Jail without bail; he may also face additional drug-related charges pending grand jury action.
