Thursday Concerts on the Green: The Sanguine Penguins | Healthy Hamilton Night

Hamilton’s Thursdays on the Green series continues Aug. 9 on the Village Green in the center of downtown Hamilton with a performance by The Sanguine Penguins. They bring a unique sound to folk music: part bluegrass, part singer-songwriter, and part interwoven harmonies.

In addition to terrific performances, each night of the series is dedicated to important community service-providers (teachers, first-responders, health care professionals, etc.) and includes family-friendly events.

This Thursday’s event theme is Healthy Hamilton Night. Community Memorial Hospital will be organizing events including stretching and yoga exercises, as well as walking the weekly Monday Mile.

Yard games will be available, including KanJam, Corn Hole and the Ladder Game, courtesy of

Parry’s General Store, as well as Giant Jenga, Yard Yahtzee and a washer toss game.

Folks are encouraged to dine on the Village Green. Local food trucks will be selling their specialties, and local restaurants will be ready for take-out. Ice cream, provided by Hood Dairy, will be sold for a suggested donation of $2 with 100 percent of the proceeds going to worthy non-profit organizations.

This week’s proceeds will benefit the Hamilton Food Pantry.

The evening’s concert and events are free and open to the public. The rain location for this event is Hamilton’s Palace Theater.

Activities begin at 5:30 p.m.; music will be provided from 7 to 9 p.m.
