Join Commerce Chenango and the Hamilton Business Alliance from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 29 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Rogers Environmental Education Center. Business and community leaders are invited to experience the area’s premier eco-tourist destination while socializing with fellow community members.

Hosted by Friends of Rogers, the “Business After Hours” will be held at Rogers Environmental Education Center on Route 80 in Sherburne.

To commemorate this milestone birthday of Rogers Center, festivities include door prizes, live music by Jeff Lyons, and tasty samplings of the newest “grown-up” flavors from Gilligan’s Island of Sherburne.

The two-hour, post-workday timeframe gives area professionals an opportunity to discuss and share ideas while learning about other local businesses. “Business After Hours” is a relationship-building experience in a relaxed setting, designed to benefit participants through added contacts and resources.

“The ‘Golden Anniversary’ of Rogers Center is truly a cause for celebration!” said Simon Solomon, Friends of Rogers executive director. “We are grateful for the tremendous support which has sustained this regional landmark for five decades now. Our collective commitment to connecting community with nature in a beloved, educational setting is the reason that Rogers Center continues to flourish.”

Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for all ages. Seasonal hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (607) 674-4733 or visit FriendsofRogers.org.
