Great Swamp Conservancy announces annual Christmas tree sale, Santa and repurposed holiday décor event
The Great Swamp Conservancy of Canastota will hold its annual two-day Christmas tree sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2. Fresh cut balsam trees will be available. Balsam trees have the softest needles, great needle retention and are very fragrant. Shop for gently used/repurposed Christmas décor, bird-related ornaments and other nature gifts.
Visit and have your (or your pet’s) photo taken with Santa by the Swamp Snappers Camera Club (5-by- 7 photos available for $5) from 10 a.m. to 2 pm. Dec. 1
Children can create a gift or craft for someone special or for the birds. Warm up by the woodstove and enjoy hot cocoa, coffee and cookies.
Donations of Christmas décor may be dropped off at the GSC anytime by leaving on the front porch of the office. This GSC fundraiser is to benefit the Nature Centers conservation efforts. For more information or to reserve a tree, call 315.697.2950 or email greatswampconservancy@gmail.com.
