On Feb. 22, 2019, at approximately 4:48 p.m., state police stopped a vehicle on I-90 for a vehicle and traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle, Jeremy J. Prokes, 46, of Bridgeport, was found to be intoxicated while traveling with a 6-year-old child in the vehicle.
Prokes was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Albany, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.26 percent.
He was subsequently charged with:
- Aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle, a class E felony;
- endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor; and
- multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
Prokes was arraigned in Schodack Town Court and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or bond; he is scheduled to return to Schodack Town Court at 2 p.m. Feb. 27, 2019.
The child was turned over to the care of Child Protective Services of Onondaga County.
