Aug. 4 marks closing of 2013 Summer Art Series’ Pastel Artists of CNY

(Cazenovia, NY – July 2013) Cazenovia College’s 2013 Summer Art Series will host an artist’s reception, Sunday, Aug. 4 from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall on the closing day of the Summer Art Series’ Pastel Artists of Central New York exhibition. The reception is free and open to the public.

Work by more than 30 Central New York artists is on display. Visitors to the gallery have commented on the range of styles and the vibrancy of this show. During the reception, one artist will be honored with “The People’s Choice Award,” a box of art supplies donated by Commercial Art Supply in Syracuse.

The artists are: Greg Trombly, Baldwinsville; Sylvia Needel, Canastota; Jane WoodruffCarroll, Ann Cross, Linda Lemay, and Elaine Rubenstein, Cazenovia; Suzanne Dunn, Linda Cohen, Dewitt; Virginia Clapp, Frankfort; James Bruce Schwabach, Ilion; Deborah Dahlin, Deborah Florentino-Dlugolecki, Liverpool; Roscha Folger, Sally Hootnick, Manlius; BethHouston-Barnholdt, N. Syracuse; Mary Padgett, New Woodstock; Barbara Delmonico,Skaneateles; Nicora Gangi, Diana Godfrey, Cheryl Gressani, Richard D. Harris, Wendy Harris, David Hicock, Lacey McKinney, Adriana Meiss, Paul Riccardi, Daniel Shanahan, Barbara Vural, Syracuse; Donna Kistler, Utica; and Neal Allen, West Winfield.

Much of the work is for sale and artists will be on hand to talk with potential buyers. Twenty percent of the purchase price of each painting sold will be donated to the Cazenovia College Summer Art Series.

The Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall, 6 Sullivan St., is on the corner of Sullivan and Seminary streets in Cazenovia. All exhibitions are free and open to the public, and the gallery is handicapped accessible. The Summer Art Series provides an opportunity for Cazenovia College to support the artists of Central New York. 2013Summer Art Series hours are Friday, 6-8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 1-4 p.m., June 8 through August 4.
