PUMC 7-13-13
(Peterboro, NY – June 2013) On Saturday July 13 at 7 p.m. the Peterboro Area Historical Society will sponsor a program at the Peterboro United Methodist Church, 5244 Pleasant Valley Road in Peterboro.  The program is titled “Names in Stained Glass” and will be presented by Smithfield Town Historian, Donna Burdick. Burdick will give details on the lives of those whose names are memorialized on the eight stained glass window in the 154 year old church.

The windows were installed 96 years ago when the church was raised and remodeled. Burdick states that one of her favorite windows is one in the foyer which was given by the Robert Gibby Colored Club, but Donna resists telling much more in order to save the researched tidbits of information for the presentation.

Burdick has been the Smithfield Town Historian for 18 years. She is a retired teacher, having taught business courses at Whitney Point Central High School for 29 years.  She retired in 2001.

Admission is free.
