(Watertown, NY – July 31, 2014)  State Police in Watertown arrested John L. Sullivan, age 50, 1039 Bronson St. Watertown on 1 count of Eavesdropping a Class E Felony.

Police said Sullivan did place a mechanical overhearing device within a US Postal Vehicle in an effort to overhear/record privileged conversations within. The defendant is a US Postal Employee and the incident occurred during the month of July 2014 at 232 Commerce Dr. Watertown.

Sullivan was issued an appearance ticket to return Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. at Watertown Court.

The State Police were assisted in this investigation by the Office of Inspector General and US Postal Inspection Service.

  1. you have to be pretty paranoid to need a bug on your fellow employees. It’s bad enough the postal nazis have to do it
