Cazenovia library new(Cazenovia, NY – Dec. 2014) All are invited to join local resident Paolo Amadio at the Cazenovia Public Library on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. and view a virtual journey to Rome to admire the sculptures of Gianlorenzo Bernini – the Baroque genius.

Bernini had an almost frightening ability to transform a block of marble into a piece of uncommon artistry as part of a magic milieu. A man of extraordinary ability, ambition, and charisma, he was an amazing artist credited with creating the Baroque style of sculpture and architecture.

A sublime architect, painter and sculptor, Gianlorenzo Bernini became the most celebrated artist in Europe leaving such masterpieces as the façade and colonnade of San Peter Cathedral and the mysterious and monumental fountain of the Four Rivers in Piazza Navona.

Amadio was born and raised in Rome, Italy.  His strong passion for Roman and Italian art and history foster his enthusiasm in wanting to share the intricacies and awe-inspiring stories associated with his native city.  Paolo, his wife Marilyn, and son Jordan moved to Cazenovia from Rome in 1996.

All events at the Cazenovia Public Library are free and open to the public.  For more information on Amadio’s presentation or other events at the Cazenovia Public Library, call 655-9322 or visit www.cazenoviapubliclibrary.org.
