(Oneida, NY- Jan. 2015) In the tradition of Valentine’s Day, the Madison County Historical Society will be having a Heritage Handicraft Felt embroidery Valentine Workshop for adults and children aged 10 years and up from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday Feb. 7.

Victorian women spent much of their time and effort on all sorts of decorative projects from crocheting, to knitting, to tatting, to embroidering. They displayed their handmade crafts in their homes, as well as on handkerchiefs and clothing, often giving them away to loved ones as a token of their love and affection.

Join instructor, Pamela Vogan Lynch to learn felt embroidery techniques while creating a heart craft for Valentine’s Day.Lynch is a professional artist and retired Director of Art for the Oneida City School District with 35 years of experience in art education.

All materials will be provided.

In true Victorian fashion, cookies and tea will be served. Reservations are required as space is limited to 12. The workshop is $12 for members and $14 for nonmembers.
