(Utica, NY – Feb. 2013) Feeling restless? If your kids are climbing your walls, have them climb a 30-foot tall tower. They can even go two at a time. Join the Revolutionary Trails Council during Winter Break for the first annual Cabin Fever Kid Expo Event from 2 to 6 p.m. at MVCC’s Jorgensen Center (Field House) on Sunday Feb. 17. This event is open to everyone.

The climbing tower has three different levels: beginner, intermediate, and difficult. See if you can make it to the top, ring the bell, then belay down. Not only does this kid expo include the climbing tower, but we’ll also have activities like these:  indoor archery, rain gutter boats, pinewood derby racecar competitions; and skill challenges, such as a first aid station hosted by the American Red Cross, knot-tying, flag etiquette, and leave no trace. There also will be letter-boxing (scavenger hunt), Oneida Nation Indian lore, dancing and much more. Food will be available for purchase.

Cost: $5/child (if pre-register, $6/child at the door), which includes activities and event patch.  Additional cost for pinewood cars and regatta boats. If you would like to participate in either race (pinewood derby or regatta boat), you must register online. This is event is being hosted by the Revolutionary Trails Council.  Register for the event online at www.scoutingcny.org or by calling the Scout Service Center at 735-4437.
