(Norwich, NY – Feb. 2013) The public is invited to the fifth film of the current annual
“Second Tuesday Monthly Film Series”  at 7 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Founders’ Room at the United Church of Christ, 11 W. Main St., Norwich.

This screening, entitled “Dear Governor Cuomo” documents the benefit concert and celebration that took place in Albany in May 2012 calling on the Governor to a ban the new technology known as high volume hydraulic fracturing of shale to obtain natural gas.  Fearing the possible lifting of the moratorium instead, the event was assembled in less than a month, and
after two rehearsals in twenty four hours, it was show time.

This free film of inspiration and motivation features Natalie Merchant who was the musical director, and a line-up of performers such as Joan Osborne, Citizen Cope, Medeski Martin and Wood, The Felice Brothers and others, including folk-rock violinist, Mazz Swift who appeared in Oxford last year at 6 on the Square.

As usual, the sponsors, Chenango County Peace Action and Chenango Community Action for Renewable Energy (C-CARE) offer attendees a light supper at 6:30 before the show and encourage discussion afterwards.

Please note parking is available on the street, in the Hayes St. and County Office Building lots; but please do not use the church’s lot in back.

For more information, call Chris at 607-334-6095 or contact Ken at ccare@frontier.com.

Keep in mind that suggestions for future films and topics to explore are welcome.
