(Utica, NY – Feb. 2013) Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County Master Gardener Volunteers will be offering a Basic Gardening 101 Class at the Utica Public Library on Wednesday, March 20 at 10 a.m. and on Monday, March 25 at 6:30 p.m.

The class is geared for folks interested in learning how to do a vegetable garden and who are or would like to become involved in community gardens.

Come and learn the basic skills of gardening such as choosing a site, soil types, the different types of gardening, tools used in gardening, growing seeds and transplanting seedlings, mulching and fertilizing.

Those interested may register for this free class online at uticapubliclibrary.org or by calling 735-2279.  Registration begins one month prior to the program date.
