(Herkimer, NY – March 2013) Herkimer County Community College will present the film “The Whistleblower” Wednesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. in the amphitheater (room 288) of the Hummel Corporate and Professional Education Center in the McLaughlin College Center.

The film (2011) stars Rachel Weisz, David Strathairn and Vanessa Redgrave. In Bosnia in 1999, Kathryn Bolkovac, a U.N. peacekeeper whose post with the International Police Task Force was arranged by DynCorp Inc., is assigned to run the IPTF office that investigates sex trafficking, domestic abuse and sexual assault. She ultimately alleges that peacekeepers, U.N. workers and international police are visiting brothels and facilitating sex trafficking by forging documents and illegal transport of women into Bosnia. The film is open to the public free of charge.

Kathryn Bolkovac , the Whistleblower, will be on campus to present her program on Friday, April 12 at 5pm in the amphitheater. The public is also welcome to attend her presentation free of charge. The film and presentation are sponsored by the College’s Women’s Club and Student Activities
