(Little Falls, NY – March 2013) Cornell Cooperative Extension of Herkimer County will offer a free day-long seminar on the legal aspects of farm and estate transfer. This workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Knights Inn, Little Falls.

The workshop presenters will be Lorraine Lewandrowski, an attorney in Herkimer and attorneys Chris Bray and Jeff Rheinhardt from the firm of Radley and Rheinhardt in Ilion.  This free workshop will feature sections on wills of different kinds, laws concerning trusts, Medicaid issues, powers of trustees, power of attorney, living wills, estate taxes and more. If you or someone you know has questions regarding the transfer of their estate or farm this workshop is for you. There will be plenty of time for audience questions, so plan on interacting with the presenters.

Lunch will be provided free for attendees.  Pre-registration is required by Monday, March 25.  Please call Cornell Cooperative Extension of Herkimer County at (315) 866-7920, or email herkimer@cornell.edu to reserve your place for this important workshop. Although this is a follow-up workshop from the “Farm Transition and Succession” workshop held November 2012, all are welcome to attend.

This event is made possible by a grant from Herkimer County Mental Health Services through the Farm Family Assistance Program.
