(Syracuse, NY – March 8, 2013) “Easing the tax burden for Central New York’s hardworking families is one of my top priorities,” said Assemblymember Sam Roberts. “The Assembly’s budget includes a 10 percent increase in Aid and Incentives to Municipalities (AIM) funding, which will hold steady for the next three years. Central New York’s municipalities have seen their costs continue to rise over the years, while they have not seen an AIM increase since the 2008-09 budget. This additional aid will help them balance their budgets and ease the load on taxpayers, and I am committed to ensuring this increase is included in the final budget.”

Stirpe: Will continue to fight to ensure it is included in final budget

“In an effort to help ease the property tax burden that our hardworking families face, the Assembly budget will include, for the first time since 2008, a 10 percent increase in AIM funding that will hold steady over the next three years,” said Assemblymember Al Stirpe. “I have been fighting relentlessly for additional funding for our towns and villages in order to help them meet their financial needs. And I will continue to fight to ensure this increased aid is included in the final budget later this month.”
