(Utica, NY – March 2013) Every year, one or more members of the Community are recognized for having made significant contributions in the fields of mental health and chemical dependency, as well as their treatment and prevention – through the message of hope and recovery – with the receipt of the Amethyst Award; given by Center for Family Life and Recovery, Inc. (CFLR, Inc.) at the annual April Awareness Breakfast.
This special event, coinciding with Alcohol Awareness Month – during the month of April – recognizes the contributions of the Community in helping support our agency’s vision of creating a community mind set where people embrace sustained recovery from mental health and substance use disorders.
This year, CFLR, Inc. is pleased to announce that the 2013 Amethyst Award winner is Taralyn (Tara) Costello, Director of Substance Abuse Services & Dual Recovery Coordinator at the Oneida County Department of Mental Health, for “improving the delivery of services to people with both mental illness and substance abuse” in her role at O.M.H.; outstanding advocacy.
