(Utica, NY – March 21, 2013) United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area has created the Valley Support Fund to help victims of the recent shootings in Herkimer County.
An Unmet Needs Committee comprised of community leaders, elected officials, business owners, law enforcement and non-profit representatives from the Valley will oversee the fund to ensure donations will be utilized to best meet the needs of the victims and others affected by this recent tragedy.
Donations can be made to the Valley Support Fund. Text “UNITED” to 52000. $10 will be added to your phone bill and directly donated to the fund. Standard messaging rates may apply. Checks made payable to United Way c/o Valley Support Fund can be mailed to our Herkimer office at 401 East German Street, Herkimer, 13350.
