(Utica, NY – March 20, 2013) Go Go Gadget Pink Packet announces the release of his fourth mixtape, Typical Weekend, continuing to demonstrate a hidden side of hip-hop that is unknown to many Central New Yorkers. The record release comes while he gets set to take the stage as one of the opening acts for Wu Tang Clan’s Gza, performing at the Westcott Theatre in Syracuse on Friday April 5.

In a time period where many progressive hip-hop artists are testing out new sounds and styles, Go Go Gadget Pink Packet morphs his love for classic punk and hardcore rap with his passion for childhood fads and 90s pop culture. His throwback references to Nickelodeon and cult classic comedies add a comedic nature to songs that still contain harder rap elements, presented with a refreshing flow.

“With the technology available today, there aren’t any excuses for music lovers to not follow their dreams,” Go Go Gadget Pink Packet said. “I love hip-hop, I love creative writing and I love the local music scene. We need to band together and support everyone from Central NY putting time and effort into their goals. The tone of Typical Weekend makes suggestions to the weak economy, while providing a sense of encouragement to young people, who should be pursuing the things that they love.”

The fourth album mixes in harder kicking tracks like “La Bore Ah Tore Ey” and “That’s a Big First Bite,” proving he is serious about rap and helping to resurrect the present state of hip hop. Transitioning into a few lighter tone songs, on “Buncha Goombas” and “Talking ‘Bout a Place Called Aspen,” Pink Packet hits punchlines and pushes the envelope, sliding in both middle school jokes and adult rated humor. Finally, serious elements are presented on songs like “‘Merican Dream” and “Don’t Need ‘Em,” discussing the mindless debates stemming from the recent presidential election and the struggles of family life, respectively.

After his show at the Westcott Theater on April 5, Go Go Gadget Pink Packet will begin working on his fifth album.
