(Herkimer, NY – April 2013) The Herkimer Community Museum will be holding a One-Year Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, May 5 from noon to 3 pm.

The Museum is located at 301 N. Prospect St. in the Village of Herkimer and features exhibits on fossils, dinosaurs and ancient Egypt.

In its first year of operation, the Museum has had over 1,000 visitors.

The Anniversary Celebration is open to the public and will feature a rock climbing tower, crafts, face painting and other fun activities; popcorn, ice cream and food vendors, and only $1 admission for tours of the Museum.

Members of the Basloe Public Library Trustees will also be on hand to help people sign up for library cards.

The Herkimer Community Museum is a collaborative initiative of Herkimer County Community College, the Village of Herkimer, the International Museum Institute of New York, and the Frank J. Basloe Public Library. Its goal is to provide a high-quality, accessible educational resource in the Main Street district of the Village of Herkimer for families and schools in the Mohawk Valley.
