(Lafayette, NY – April 29, 2013) On Sunday, April 28 at 7:26 p.m. State Police in Lafayette responded to a fatal motorcycle crash on State Route 20 in the Town of Pompey, Onondaga County.
The investigation revealed a 2003 Buell Sport motorcycle, operated by Douglas M. Ochsner, age 44, from 3416 Route 11 in Lafayette, was eastbound on State Route 20 when he lost control, drove off the south shoulder of the roadway and struck a guide rail.
The passenger on the motorcycle, Rebecca T. Larobardiere, age 43, from 8 Waterbury Drive in North Syracuse, and the operator were both ejected from the motorcycle.
Ochsner was air-lifted by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office AIR-1 to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he later died. Larobardiere was pronounced deceased at the scene.
