Events include academic awards banquet, commencement
(Marcy, NY – May 2013) SUNYIT’s 39th annual commencement will honor hundreds of graduates Saturday, May 11, starting at 10 a.m., in the Wildcat Field House.
About 700 candidates who became eligible for graduation from August 2012 through the end of the current academic year have been invited to take part in the annual ceremony. In addition to remarks by President Yeigh, graduates and guests will hear from RoAnn M. Destito, Commissioner of the New York State Office of General Services; she will deliver the keynote address. Also during the ceremony, students will present a class gift, and there will be other recognitions in addition to the awarding of degrees. A reception in the Student Center will follow the two-hour ceremony.
Commencement weekend also includes a number of other events, such as hooding ceremonies for degree candidates in some graduate programs, and the annual academic awards banquet in the Wildcat Field House Friday, May 10, starting at 5:30 p.m.
