Oneida Public Library news

(Oneida, NY- May 2013) Now on exhibit through May 30 at Oneida Public Library are some 30 accomplished photographs of flowers, wildlife and landscapes by members of the Swamp Snappers Camera Club, which is associated with the Great Swamp Conservancy in Canastota.

Formed only a year and a half ago, the Swamp Snappers now boast 48 members from around Central New York, ranging in skills from amateurs to top-flight professionals, including the internationally well-known wildlife photographer Eric Dresser.

Many of the matted and framed photographs are for sale, with prices that range from $10 to $65. Purchasers can pay directly to the library, which will forward all proceeds to the club, and then take the pictures home, even before the exhibit concludes. The club also welcomes inquiries about specific types of photographs which, if available, can be processed and matted for purchase.

The Swamp Snappers Camera Club welcomes new members. It meets on the first Saturday of every month at 1 p.m. at the Great Swamp Conservancy, 8375 North Main St., Canastota. Meetings often involve instructional workshops and mutual critiques. Those interested in attending can call club president Eleanor Jones at 363-1458 or the Great Swamp Conservancy at 697-2950.
