Colgate University to exhibit “stolen generation” art for a limited time
(Hamilton, NY – May 31, 2013) Last month, Colgate University announced it was returning Australian Aboriginal Children’s Art to Curtin University in an important example of international, cultural, and educational collaboration. The news was covered by the New York Times, the Today Show and the Syracuse Post Standard.
The art will be exhibited for a short time next week before the final departure to Australia later this month.
The special exhibit, “The Art of the Gift: The Journey Home of the Australian Aboriginal Children’s Art Collection,” will be shown in the Clifford Gallery, first floor of Little Hall, on two occasions:
Saturday, June 1, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Tuesday, June 4, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
