(Richland, NY – June 9, 2013) At approximately 2:45 p.m. June 9  State Police in Pulaski responded to Peck Road in the Town of Richland, Oswego County regarding a personal injury accident regarding a vehicle striking an Amish horse and buggy.

The investigation revealed, Levi E. Hershberger was operating his horse and buggy south on Peck Road when it was struck from the rear by a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Priscilla L. Janack, age 28, from 1660 County Route 2 in Richland causing the occupants of the buggy to be ejected.

Two passengers in the buggy, Saloma L. Hershberger and Tina L Hershberger were transported by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for possible head trauma.
Janack was issued a ticket (Section 1146a – VTL) for Failure to use due care approaching a horse.
