(Verona, NY – June 10, 2013) Oneida Nation Representative and Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter was joined by Central and Northern New York Building Trades Council President Greg Lancette to tour the active construction site of the new “Exit 33” entertainment complex at Turning Stone Resort Casino.  Through the hard work of 280 local construction workers and building trades craftsmen, the next chapter in Turning Stone’s future continues to be on schedule for a July opening.

The $25 million expansion project is also on budget, and the Oneida Nation expects to create over 125 permanent jobs for the operation of “Exit 33.”

Halbritter said, “For over seven months, the construction crews and building trades have been working hard to make “Exit 33” a reality.  When we open in July, we will be adding more than 125 permanent jobs to one of the largest workforces in Central New York.”

Lancette said, “Once again, the Oneida Nation has demonstrated a commitment to using local union labor on its construction projects, and the vast majority of new construction jobs created by this expansion have been performed by workers who live within 50 miles of the site.”

“Exit 33” will house distinct venues including:

–          Tin Rooster – BBQ and dance hall featuring an authentic country atmosphere with a modern approach.  Live bands and DJ’s playing continuous country favorites and a large dance floor.

–          The Gig – A rock & roll club featuring local bands to fill the club with energy and excitement, and even square off in Battle of the Bands contests.  The menu will feature NY-Style pizza and a full selection of drinks.

–          Turquoise Tiger – A sophisticated lounge and cocktail bar, inspired by 1940’s film noir.  Entertainment will run the spectrum from songstresses, and lively piano players, to comedians, and more.

The July opening of “Exit 33” will coincide with the celebration of Turning Stone’s 20thAnniversary.  A full schedule of grand opening events will be announced soon.
