(Earlville, NY – June 2013) The Earlville Opera House features the powerhouse French Celtic music of Genticorum on Saturday, June 29 at 8 p.m.Genticorum2011_Catherine_Aboumrad_high_res_4

If you are new to the Celtic music of Quebec, its joyous traditional Celtic Acadian reels and dances are characterized by strong, percussive foot-stomping and by “call and response” vocals.

Genticorum takes the tradition and weaves precise and intricate fiddle and flute work, gorgeous vocal harmonies, energetic foot percussion and guitar and bass into a “big and jubilant musical feast.”

The band has received accolades for their musicianship at the CANADIAN FOLK MUSIC AWARDS in 2011 when they won both the “Traditional album of the year” and “Ensemble of the year”.  They also received the CANADIAN FOLK MUSIC AWARD for their CD “La Bibournoise” for “Traditional Album of the Year” in 2008.

EOH Members are encouraged to bring up to two people who have never attended an EOH performance before to the show – your new guests to EOH will be free.

General admission is $18 and $16 for EOH members and students are discounted to $13.  Premium seating in the first 4 rows is an added $5.

The EOH Theater is wheelchair-accessible with a ramp and a lift.

For more information, or to reserve your seats, call 315-691-3550 or order online at www.earlvilleoperahouse.com.
