(Herkimer, NY – June 2013) 
The 21st annual Generals Open Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Herkimer County College Foundation, was held Monday, June 17 at the Stonebridge Golf and Country Club in New Hartford. This year’s tournament raised the most money in the history of the event, with funds supporting student scholarships at the College.
Twenty-six teams with 103 golfers participated in the tournament. First place was awarded to the team from Fastrac; second place went to the Buffalo Bills; and the team from Herkimer ARC took third place.
Guest speaker at the awards ceremony was Buffalo Bills Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Hal Luther. Originally from Dolgeville, NY, Luther is the son of former Herkimer County Community College Trustee Gary Luther and grandson of one of the College’s founders, Harold Luther.
Major tournament sponsors were Pepsi Bottling as the tournament title sponsor, and Carbone Auto Group as the hole-in-one sponsor. Event sponsors included American Food & Vending; Adirondack Bank; Beebe Construction Services; Haylor, Freyer & Coon Insurance; Human Technologies Corp; National Grid and Northland Communications.
