(Seneca Falls, NY – July 2013) The New York Beef Industry Center is adding Cattle Clipping demonstrations for the Aug. 6t o 8 Empire Farm Days. Experts on fitting cattle for show and sale will work with live animals daily at 12:30 p.m.
The New York Beef Industry Center at the event that is the largest outdoor agricultural trade show in the Northeastern U.S. includes a live cattle breeds display and the opportunity to talk with Angus, Red Angus, Hereford, Charolais, Limousin, Simmental, South Devon, and White Park producers.
Visitors to the Center will find information on the NY Beef Producers Association, Beef Checkoff promotions and Beef Quality Assurance program that is a combination of technology, common sense, a concern for animal wellbeing and consumer-oriented production. Producers can enroll to become a BQA-Certified Producer.
Daily at 11:30 a.m. at the Center, Cornell University Beef Extension Specialist Dr. Mike Baker will demonstration safe cattle handling facilities and techniques, including the lower-stress Bud Box system.
