(Oriskany, NY – July 2013) Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County Master Gardener Volunteer Program will present “Daylilies in the Garden and the Kitchen,” presented by Mary Ann Lorenz and Mary Green, Master Gardener Volunteer on Monday, July 22. Class time is 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Daylilies are wonderful perennial plants to grow in the garden, but did you know that the flowers make delicious snacks? In this class, you will learn the basics about growing this versatile plant as well as using the flowers for great snacks, salads, and sautés. Enjoy a tour of the daylilies in the Extension’s Parker F. Scripture Botanical Gardens as you learn how to use this plant in the landscape as well as in the kitchen.
The class will be held at the Extension Office located at the Oneida County Farm & Home Center, 121 Second Street, Oriskany.
There is a minimal class fee of $5. Registration is required.
