(Morrisville, NY – Sept. 4, 2013) Morrisville State College head football coach Curt Fitzpatrick has named junior quarterback Lemar Johnson (Ossining, N.Y.), senior safety Jeremy Stewart (Moravia, N.Y.), senior guard Nate Ryan (Staten Island, N.Y.), and senior defensive tackle David Williams (Central Islip, N.Y.) captains for the upcoming football season.
Williams was named to the USA College Football Division III Pre-season All-American and earned NJAC Second Team defense last season. Ryan also received preseason All-American honors and was named NJAC honorable mention last season. Stewart was also named NJAC honorable mention for the 2012 season.
First year head coach Curt Fitzpatrick said this about this year’s captains, “I have no doubt that our team made the right choices in voting Nate, Lemar, David, and Jeremy our 2013 captains.”
“They are great young men, hard workers, and exemplify everything that we want in a Mustang football player.”
The Mustangs open up their season on the road against Wilkes University Colonels, the Mustangs were defeated last season by the Colonels 9-7. The game will take place on September 7 at Schmidt Stadium Wilkes-Barre P.A.
