Submitted by Morrisville-Eaton Central School District
(Morrisville, , NY – Sept. 2013) The New York State Education Department has finished its review of the merger study for the Morrisville-Eaton and Hamilton Central School districts. On Sept. 12 the SES Associates, consultants for this study, will present the findings to the Morrisville-Eaton community.
The study is available for review on the district website at www.mecs.org.
The presentation will be held in the Morrisville-Eaton High School auditorium at 7 p.m. All district residents are encouraged to attend.
After the presentation, the Morrisville-Eaton board has charged Superintendent Michael Drahos with conducting an extensive communication and information process. At the end of the process it will be the district residents and not a five-member board that makes the critical decision regarding the future of the district.
During this time, discusses will be not only a potential merger, but other financial and educational choices if a decision is made not to merge with Hamilton.
The Sept. 12 presentation of the study is only the first step in the process.
