(Canastota, NY – Oct. 2013) The CNY-North Country Trail/Link Trail Chapter will hold its annual meet Sunday Oct. 20 at the Canastota Education and Archive Center, 110 N. Canal St. in the village from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
A special presentation on Canastota and the Erie Canal will be given by Canal Town President Joe DiGiorgio. A tour of the Canal Town Museum will also be offered.
The event is open to the public.
In April of 2013 Canastota was designated as a “Trail Town” on the North Country Scenic Trail, the first in New York state.
This designation notes the historic role of the village of Canastota and the town of Lenox, its available services and foot travel recreation assets.
