(Oneida County, NY – Oct. 16, 2013) The Oneida County Association of Towns had their annual election of officers at their business meeting on Oct.15, 2013 at the Buffalo Head Restaurant.

Officers elected and their position includes: President – Fritz Scherz (Councilman, Town of Verona), 1st Vice President – William Hasenauer (Supervisor, Town of Forestport), 2nd Vice President – Rick Sherman (Highway Superintendent, Town of New Hartford), and Treasurer – Beverly Merriman (Deputy Town Clerk, Town of Westmoreland). The Secretary position will be filled at the Jan. 21, 2014 business meeting.

“I’m honored to be selected for this position and thank my colleagues on the Oneida County Association of Towns,”said Scherz.  “I want to thank my predecessor, Dale Bradbury DeKing for the excellent job she did as President over the last two years.”

The Oneida County (NY) Association of Towns has a goal of helping towns obtain greater economy and efficiency, and to provide learning and networking opportunities for town officials.

Scherz has been serving as Councilman on the Verona Town Board since January 2010. Additionally, Scherz previously served as 2nd Vice President of the Oneida County Association of Towns in 2012.
