(Morrisville, NY – Oct. 22, 2013) The final home contest for the Morrisville State
Mustangs women’s soccer team against visiting SUNY Canton ended in a
0-0 draw after a thrilling double overtime.

The tie moves the Mustangs to 8-5-1 overall 6-4 in the North Eastern
Athletic Conference (NEAC).

The Mustangs had multiple chances to take the lead in the first half,
taking seven shots on goal. The second half was more of the same, but
Morrisville just could not find the back of the net.

Heading into overtime the Mustangs offensive attack fluttered as the
Canton defense stepped up, resulting in no shots on goal for the
Stangs.

The lack of offense down the stretch for the Mustangs resulted in 31
attempts for Canton. The bell was answered as Angela Marriott
(Peekskill, N.Y.) had a masterful performance in the net for
Morrisville, making 15 saves in goal.

Brittany Rotach records the tie, moving Canton to 7-8-2 on the season.

The Mustangs return to action on Saturday October 26 as they travel
to SUNY IT in a pivotal match that will determine Morrisville’s
playoff life.
