(Norwich, NY – Oct. 2013) Vital Vittles, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Public Market in the City of Norwich is now a year round farmers market. The summer farmers market (from June through October) is administered by Chenango County Farmers Market (CCFM), one of the oldest associations in the state. The new winter farmers market is called Norwich Farmers Market (NFM) and is a project of Vital Vittles, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to address local food issues.
The winter farmers market will run from November through May each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (or after). The location of the farmers market will continue to be in East Side Park as long as the weather is temperate. When the weather starts turning in the fall, the market will move indoors to Morrisville College’s Follett Hall Atrium at 20 Conkey Ave. in the City of Norwich. In the spring, whenever the weather warms up, the market will move back to East Side Park.
The vendors participating in the farmers markets have a wide variety of local products to offer from locally grown meats (chicken, lamb, goat, pork, beef, and goose), farm fresh eggs, a wide variety of indigenous produce (summer and winter crops), fresh baked goods, and preserves to wood crafts, household crafts, trees and shrubs.
Join our local producers currently in the park on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and move with us to Follett Hall during the cold months on Wednesdays.
