image003(Utica, NY – Nov. 2013) On Veterans Day Monday Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the CNY Veterans Outreach Center will be hosting a Grand Re-opening of the Facility at 726 Washington St. to include the reopening of the Bunker Café and the Education Annex.

The Founder and current Executive Director Vincent Scalise has spent the past six months re-organizing and re-tooling the operation, after returning from a long absence due to his most recent deployment to Afghanistan.  This effort has proven effective in making the Veterans Outreach Center successful in its mission of helping Veterans and their Families in need.  The CNY VOC is proud to boast that it currently operates both a  VHPD and SSVF programs, which are designed to provide financial assistance for Veterans and their Families in need.

After being closed for over a year the Bunker Café, which is located on the first floor of the center, will be opening again.  The Bunker will offer fresh brewed Green Mountain and Utica Coffee Rosters coffee along with light food. Refreshments and coffee will be free to all that attend this day.  We will also be opening the Education Annex which will provide a comfortable learning environment for our Veterans.

The Centers staff will be offering tours of our facility.  The CNY Veteran’s Outreach Center is reaching out to at-risk and homeless veterans and their Families in Central. They have expanded its services beyond the Mohawk Valley to the Greater Northern New York Region. On this day they will also be showcasing the education annex. This annex will have a fully equipped computer lab, lecture room, conference room and office space.

The CNY-Veteran’s Outreach Center will also be accepting donations of all kinds that day, to include bottles and cans, old Christmas lights for recycling and monetary donations.
