(Utica, NY – Nov. 4, 2013) Mayor Robert Palmieri recently announced the completion of a major renovation project at Addison Miller Park in West Utica.
The project, which was funded through Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, replaced all the fencing and lighting in the park. In addition, the project allowed for the replacement of basketball standards and re-pavement of the blacktop among other improvements.
The project, which began in 2012, is the first major renovation and investment for Addison Miller Park in several decades. Since the initial paving was completed earlier this year, Addison Miller has been one of the most utilized parks in the City.
“I commend Commissioner David Short, and our DPW and Parks Departments for their great work in renovating Addison Miller Park,” Palmieri stated. “If we want to see continued growth in our City it is essential we wisely invest in the needs of our communities. Given the high level of utilization of this park, I believe these renovations will provide important services, especially to our City’s youth.”
